i02: Cultural Heritage (150 M€)
Upgrading and conservation of state museums, monuments and palaces
- Interventions will be carried out on classified cultural heritage throughout the country, including 46 museums, palaces and monuments, including iconic monuments and museums such as the Jerónimos Monastery, the National Museum of Archaeology and the Belém Tower, properties under the tutelage of the Directorate-General of Cultural Heritage and the Regional Culture Departments, which will allow the refurbishment, preservation and adaptation of heritage properties while also meeting energy and water efficiency requirements.
Refurbishment of the National Theatres
- Refurbishment and modernisation works will be carried out in national cultural facilities, namely the S. Carlos National Theatre, the D. Maria II National Theatre and the Camões Theatre;
- In addition to refurbishing/restoring the theatres’ physical components by improving the active and passive energy performance, the works envisaged also involve improvements to the technical infrastructures and equipment in order to modernise these cultural facilities and ensure their compliance with current environmental and safety standards, with a view to increasing their resilience and sustainability.
Implementation of the Know How Programme
- Installation of the Know How Technological Centre and the Know How Laboratories, with associated itineraries.
