i03: Research and innovation agenda for the sustainability of agriculture, food and agro-industry (Agriculture Innovation Agenda 20|30) (€93m)
The Innovation Agenda for Agriculture aims to promote the growth of the agri-food sector in a sustainable and resilient way, based on knowledge and innovation, through an agile and adequate response to the various challenges, namely the challenge of climate transition and resilience to future shocks. It also aims to prepare the sector for the digital transition, promoting a fairer society that responds to demographic challenges and inequalities, leaving no one behind.
In this context, the goal is to empower 100 research and innovation programmes and projects and five structuring projects focused on the 15 iconic initiatives recommended by this Agenda, implementing the strategy approved by Council of Ministers Resolution 86/2020, of 13 October.
These programmes and projects will be complemented by a commitment to modernise the Innovation Network through the renewal/upgrading of scientific infrastructure and equipment in laboratories, pilot structures, experimental stations, regional variety collections and indigenous breed herds (Innovation Network Hubs).
