i02: Rural Property Register and Land Use Monitoring System (86 M€)

This investment is intended to provide the country with up-to-date and detailed knowledge of the land, both at land registry level, with identification of landowners and the boundaries and nature of properties, and in terms of reference mapping, on which the various national, regional and local planning processes can be based. The investment will enable the following objectives to be achieved:

  •  Operationalise the Digital Land Registry (BUPi) as a single platform for relations with citizens and businesses, and between them and the public authorities, and a simplified land registry system that is based on the three pillars of promoting property registration, the rapid acquisition of data on the geometry of buildings and the harmonisation of tax information;
  •  Operationalise the Land Use Monitoring System (SMOS) to obtain reference mapping products and innovate the processes of gathering and exploiting data and information and feed a dynamic system that allows timely knowledge of the dynamics of land use and of agricultural and forestry practices relevant to integrated forest rural management and to the policy of landscape transformation in vulnerable forest territories.
